Fascinating local chateau with guided tours in French and English

A Renaissance jewel built in the 1500s. A really beautiful building steeped in history. Guided tours are offered.

Nice castle close to the Villars caves: records of a fortified house on the site of the current château date back to the 12th century. Part of the foundations of the existing château belonged to the previous mediaeval house.

The setting is lovely and the views around the castle are very picturesque. Sadly the lake that was once in the valley below the Chateau de Puyguilhem is there no more - but the views down the valley from the chateau remain very attractive all the same. The chateau is open to visitors all year round.
