Hollycombe Steam in the Country
5 locals recommend
Tips from locals
Not just a static steam collection - You get to ride authentic steam driven Victorian and Edwardian fairground rides including the world’s first white-knuckle ride, the ‘Razzle Dazzle’, or ‘Mr Field’s Steam Circus’. Take it from us, this is an attraction for 'kids of all ages'!
At Hollycombe history really comes to life. Soak in the atmosphere of the fully working Edwardian-era steam fairground, ride the steam railways, or discover rare plants and trees whilst wandering through the woodland gardens.

“Ignore the picture, look up Blackdowncellar.co.uk It's under new ownership and is now a gin centre. They do wood fired pizzas as well as selling their delicious gin. It's set in a beautiful courtyard sitting on straw bales. Highly recommended. It's only 5 mins away or you can walk, mainly on a stunning bridleway. Check for opening hours. It's worth phoning them as their hours especially at the weekends are normally longer than stated on their website.”

“Great bar snacks but a bit pricey for a full meal. An easy walk away through the woods. Lovely outside area. Check opening days as last year they were not open Monday and Tuesday”
