Fort Zeelandia is a very historical place in different ways. It is very well kept and updated and you can have a nice dinner and a good drink inside the building. A handful of impressive stone buildings create this small fort in the shape of a five pointed star. It was a design that the Dutch employed in a number of their colonies including Cape Town and Ceylon. The site itself dates back to the late 17th century where the Dutch first landed on the coast of south America but the buildings are an 18th century evolution.
