Dove Cottage was where William Wordsworth lived in Grasmere and there is now a museum, gardens and cafe that form part of the attraction. Its on the edge of Grasmere.

It might seem like a cliche, but Wordsworth’s first home as an adult in the Lake District is one of the best run and most authentic museums in the country. It is hard to believe that some of the best poetry ever written was produced in a smoky, smelly, damp, cold and crowded former pub.

Dove Cottage is a house on the edge of Grasmere in the Lake District of England. It is best known as the home of the poet William Wordsworth and his sister Dorothy Wordsworth from December 1799 to May 1808, where they spent over eight years of "plain living, but high thinking".
