E. วัดราชาธิวาส Wat Rajadhivas Viharn (4.3 km.) This temple is assumed to have been established since the Ayutthaya Period, originally known as Wat Samorai. The temple served as the residence of King Rama IV when he was a monk prior to his accession to the throne. After he became King, he launched major renovations and had the temple renamed Wat Rajadhivas Viharn, meaning a temple which is resided in by a King. The old Phra Ubosoth Building was reconstructed during King Rama V period. It was designed by the great artist of the time, HRH Prince Narissara Nuvadhivong. He also designed the painting on the wall inside Phra Ubosoth which is fresco color, painted by Italian artist Carlo Rigoli. Address: Samsen road Soi 9
