Sweeping, sandy beach. Dog friendly all year. (NB: not to be confused with Towan Beach, Newquay). Head through Gerrans towards St Anthony’s Head, passing the entrance to Trewince campsite. Towan is about 5 minutes further on; there is a NT car park on the right, with toilets and the Thirstea Cafe across the lane on the left . The path down to the beach and the SW Coast Path runs down to the left.

Head across to the Roseland Peninsula for great cycling & walking. Take the King Harry Ferry then park in the National Trust car park for Towan Beach, which is one of my favourites with soft gently shelving sand and plenty of room, even in high summer. Look for the Thirstea vintage tea truck parked up near the beach, and if The Hidden Hut is open too, the food is so worth a detour for.

A quiet south east facing sand & shingle beach with rockpools exposed at low tide in Gerrans Bay on the Roseland Peninsula, refreshments in high season, toilets, coastal path in both directions, seals can be seen from Killigerran Headland in winter months. National Trust car park (25 minute drive)

This is a lovely secret beach on the road out to St Anthony Head. There is a chargeable National Trust car park and a winding path down to what feels like a Caribbean beach. Seals can be spotted chilling on the sand (please do not approach them). There is also a lovely coffee/cake stop (currently in a van) but soon to be in the old building over the road from the car park. Most definitely worth a stop for a nice coffee and cake.

Beautiful beach with a resident seal colony. Good cafe and car park. Beach good for swimming, rock pools and shells.
