The Barefoot Bar is perfect for Mai Tai's and Friday night fireworks, get there early for a seat. Fireworks are at 7:45.

My Dad is retired Navy. They stay at the Hale Koa Hotel in Waikiki. If you don't have a military ID you can still by drinks at the pool bar.Also they rent Paddle boards in a protected area in front.

Excellent Mai Tais and a great place to watch the sunset. Not fancy but genuine.

Rent chairs, paddle boards, etc at lower prices than the Hilton beachfront. A short walk down the beach. This is the US military hotel and is a nice spot on the ocean.
