A recreational rail trail that runs 240 miles in the right-of-way of the former Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad. It runs largely along the northern bank of the Missouri River. The trail is open for use by hikers, joggers, and cyclists year-round from sunrise to sunset. Various access points, all with large gravel parking lots.

You can rent a bike in St. Charles and have direct access to the Katy trail, a rails-to-trails bike path, and bike to Augusta wineries and have lunch high on the hill overlooking the Katy trail and then do the winery tours. In the Fall it is beautiful!
