Located in one of my favourite parts of Kowloon, the working class area known as Sham Shui Po, amid car workshops, recycling centres and wholesaling fabric stores, it is probably the last area you would expect to find a hipster speciality coffee shop. The space is a hybrid of workshop, gallery and coffee shop. Creativity and craftsmanship are core values of Common Room and this is reflected in the way they make coffee. In keeping with the concept of the space, they also have on their menu a DIY brew offering, where by you select your equipment (v60 or AeroPress) and choice of beans, then as you guessed it, you brew your own cup.
