One of the most characteristic features of the churches of Porto is the decoration with Portuguese tiles. The Baroque Church of Santo Ildefonso in Praça da Batalha is one such example. The current temple dates from the 18th century, the tiles were only added in the 1930s and are by Jorge Rey Colaço, the same ceramist responsible for the panels at the São Bento Station. In this same square are two icons of the theaters of Porto, the São João National Theater and the Batalha Cinema. “Entreparedes”, Cervejaria Gazela invites you to taste a Cachorrinho da Batalha accompanied by a fresh beer.
