Once you cross the sand spit there is an island trail that leads to a historic old lighthouse. Please heed the tides before crossing the spit!

A beautiful walk across Fingal Beach Spit. Check tides and consult local National Parks website before heading off.

It isn't recommended that you walk across the Fingal Spit to the Island, but rather go by kayak or boat. Check the tides before going. The views from the island back to the mainland are worth the effort!

A cool look into the areas colonial past. The journey is a little treacherous across the Fingal spit to the island so be sure to time your trip or else you’ll get stuck. Imagine Cruises host a walking eco tour which is a great way to see this stunning piece of history...if you are no so good at judging high and low tides

Point Stephens Lighthouse stands tall and elegant on Fingal Island with a view over the rocks of Fingal Bay. Built in 1862, Point Stephens Lighthouse features a swept tower base and first floor entrance that give a flared appearance. This construction, along with the terrace of Lighthouse Keepers’ quarters within the lighthouse precinct makes Point Stephens unique among Australian lighthouses. Point Stephens Lighthouse is even more unique, in that its location on Fingal Island is occasionally connected to the mainland. However at present, it is not possible to reach the lighthouse via the spit so it’s best to get to the island by boat and walk along the track to the lighthouse.
