“There is a pay for fishing pier. A sandy beach with water access is a nice place to cool off on a hot day. Since it is on the bay, the waves are typically gentler than the gulf. The kids will love the play structures. If you have a skateboarder, they may want to check out the skate park. The gazebos offer great views of the bay. There are also covered picnic benches and a boat launch. ”

“Don't go here, this is my bar, it's a secret place, only known to those who discover it during a late night foray into unknown lands. This is my favorite place in Houston. Every night of the week a different live band plays on the relatively small stage in this fine old tavern. There's nothing pretty about this place, since the only two things they seem to care about are the bar and the stage, which provide great selection/service and entertainment respectively. Tucked away in a nondescript building almost hidden from view, those who enter its doors at night are treated to some of the best blues, jazz, and rock and roll the American South has to offer. The music generated by these veterans of the road will restore you soul, quicken your heart, and bring a shy man to sing. ”

Cheese Shop
“Not a restaurant but a local cheesemonger. They offer cheese tasting daily and always wish I could buy all of them. They have a great selection of artisan cheeses. They also sell fresh white bread, local butter (from Layla farms), yogurt (from Bellwether farms), snacks (cookies, crackers, olives), proscuitto, honey, a variety of wine, and more. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about their selection of cheeses. It looks like their staff changes from time to time.”
