There are so many parks and nature trails in our area, but this is the first one that comes to mind... Quinte Conservation owns 23 public conservation areas, open daily from dawn until dusk. The closest one to us is their headquarters - the Potter's Creek Conservation Area - a 15 minute drive west along Dundas St. Their all-season accessible trails take you through fragrant orchards, open meadows and scenic woodlands for hiking, snowshoeing and skiing as well as viewing wildlife, butterfly gardens, bird-feeding stations, natural shorelines and turtle-breeding ponds. Overlooking the scenic Bay of Quinte, their park provides an amazing start for canoeists, kayakers and windsurfers.
