A quaint seaside resort town where you will find many charming buildings. Since a tiny fishing village was declared by Napoleon III as an autonomous municipality, Arcachon has developped itself into a popular destination for wealthy people looking for seaside health treatments.
On a rainy day, drive to Arcachon for a walk along the beach and a diner on the beach.
Head to the beach where you’ll find the amazing Dune du Pilat (the highest sand dune in Europe), amazing views and fantastic sea food. It's a little further - around 2 hours drive - but a great place to visit.
