Just up the road from the flat (ca 5 minutes walk) is one of the largest of the Oxford Colleges, founded in 1525. Various areas are open to the public (although check during the pandemic). The college has an important collection of Old Masters painting and drawings, housed in a specially built Picture Gallery. Its chapel doubles as the Cathedral for the City of Oxford, with organ and choral recitals usually open to the public (although again check in pandemic times). The Dining Hall of the college was used as the template for that of Hogwarts in the 'Harry Potter' movies. It also contains many important portraits of former students and fellows of the College, such as John Locke, W.E. Gladstone, W.H. Auden, and Charles Dodgson (better known as Lewis Carroll).

One of the grandest and most iconic colleges of Oxford University. Harry Potter was filmed here. In summer arrive early to beat the crowds of tourists!
