The Cathedral is widely recognised locally, nationally and internationally for its active promotion of ecumenical and bridge-building activities and this role is reflected in the regard in which the building is held as a religious venue which is acceptable to all sections of the community.”

The workmanship in the cathedral is remarkably unique and detailed; The magnificent stain glass windows recall the time of the siege. Nice that it is still in use for worship. The museum in the church holds many items from the siege

The first Anglican Cathedral to be built in the British Isles dating from 1626-1633, located inside the Walls - dedicated to the Irish Monk Saint Columba and the first non-Roman catholic cathedral to be built in Western Europe.
