The chapel is simple: it would go unnoticed if it were not for this pose of affront to the furies of the Atlantic. Inside, small spiral stairs give access to an upper floor. On the ground floor there are the usual cult statuettes. Outside, on the rounded rocks that support the monument, myths were built, and the greatest of all tells us about a Don Sebastião, who in his eternal morning of fog nailed his horse's claws to one of these rocks here, thus justifying two rounded, parallel marks that supposedly meet there. People say that the Desire ended up turning around without entering the beaches.

Take a long leisurely walk or bike ride down to Mira Mar and check out the chapel on the beach. You can also catch a train to Mira Mar (from the Coimbroes or Devesas stations) and then it is about 15 minute walk to the chapel. There are some wonder restaurants along beach so make a day of it.
