This is a must. Beautiful ruins.. huge beautiful gardens and landscape. Waterfalls, lakes and woods. Take a picnic, take a dog. The shop is great too. National Trust so take your card. It can be quite expensive without but worth it.

The dramatic abbey ruins at Fountains are the largest monastic ruins in the country. Step back into a rich and dramatic past and imagine what life would have been like for the monks who first came here all those years ago.

The grounds of Fountains Abbey are surprisingly beautiful, many fascinating paths and lanes, a deer park, a view of Ripon Cathedral. The grounds are free. The car park is usually big enough.
