The park is wonderful for picnics and has many wonderful fields for sports. It includes a dog park, skate park, ice skating rink (winters), picnic benches, water fountains, and serves as a trailhead for the Gateway mountain biking trails.

Wintertime ice skating!! Open with restrictions during Covid. Awesome little Skate park & summer concert series location (not during Covid) bike park with jumps and other features.

Shastice Park is at the north eastern part of the city. The park consists of 38 acres, 14 of which are developed. An outdoor ice rink is available from November through April, and is the pride of Mt. Large park with bike park and skate park, tennis courts, dog areas and awesome views of Mt Shasta. In winter Shastice has the largest open air ice rink on the west coast. Great fun, sometimes they have hockey lessons and matches. Snack shack for hot chocolate and more. Plenty of seating for those who just want to watch.
