This historic local port is the second largest fishing port in the UK, still antiquated yet lots to do, 15 mins away.

A walk along Penzance Prom to Newlyn is an enjoyable day out. You can buy freshly landed fish from one of the many fish shops and there are some new boutique cafes that have just opened. Dukes Street Cafe is great and just opposite is an interesting antique shop selling all kinds of unusual objects. The Art Gallery in Newlyn is great and has some really interesting exhibitions. It also has a panoramic window in its cafe if you need a drinks stop. www.newlynartgallery.co.uk . You can see the fishing boats in the harbour. The Tolcarne Inn serves excellent seafood - owned by the chef Ben Tunnicliffe
