Jenner Headlands is a spectacular 5,630-acre mosaic of redwood and Douglas-fir forests, oak woodland, chaparral and coastal prairie overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The Preserve adjoins Pacific Coast Highway for 2.5 miles adjacent to Sonoma Coast State Park, just north of the Russian River Estuary. Many rare and endangered species inhabit the property including the northern spotted owl, peregrine falcon and red tree vole. Deer, bobcat, coyote, mountain lion and steelhead trout are also found on the property.

There is a back entrance to The Jenner Headlands Preserve walking distance from our property. Take a left going out of the driveway, another left at the dead end and head up the road past the “Dead End” sign. You will soon get to the entrance of the Preserve. Hike up the hill for stunning views of the Sonoma Coast.

The Jenner Headlands Preserve is a network of hiking trails climbing the hills high above the ocean. Hike to the top of the mountain through pastures of cattle, ancient trees and grasslands. Breath deep and take in all the stunning, beautiful nature surrounding you.

New coastal preserve on Highway One. Awesome hiking trail with amazing views from above the clouds. Not the best for toddlers, though I have seen some hard core mamas (and papas) with baby backpacks.
