Its a nature reserve. When visiting its like a trail cause you have to walk about 1 1/2hour to reach the top.

Hike through an ancient palm forest and see the indigenous coco de mer tree at Fond Ferdinand, a large nature reserve with a diversity of animals and plants.

There is a beautiful guided walk along the Fond Ferdinand Trail signposted off the coast road near Anse Consolation. When last we checked the charge was 15Euro. It involves over 600 steps, takes about 2hrs and includes an entertaining and informative guide. Take water, walking shoes and a hat.
