The Aquarium’s mission is to bring original, cutting edge music to the area to foster an inspired, diverse and creative community. The venue, established in 2006, is North Dakota’s number one source for live music. Located in the heart of downtown Fargo, it hosts more national, regional and local artists than any other venue in the state. Past performers include Father John Misty, Bon Iver, The Melvins, Prof, Built To Spill, Band of Horses, Trampled By Turtles and hundreds of other acclaimed acts. The Aquarium is independently owned and operated. Its staff includes three core promoters and one production director. Dempsey’s Public House, located below The Aquarium, supports the venue with bar staff and business management. Both The Aquarium and Dempsey’s have been awarded “Best Music Venue” and “Best Bar,” respectively, several years in row by the High Plains Reader.
