Why locals recommend it

Behind the lace curtains and the old Betta Meats butcher sign is a local’s local. The cocktails are playful and the hip-hop playlist is on point. It’s very Newtown: friendly and not taking itself too seriously. They have delicious blended drinks and aren’t afraid to use things like Alizé in an ironic sense. Order a zombie and don’t look back. It has a lot of different types of rums, including overproof rum, with grapefruit juice, absinthe, and lime. Then it’s set on fire.

This used to be a butcher shop but is now a cocktail bar. Its easy to walk past. It's always busy as the drinks are great. It attracts a hipster crowd.

Looks like a butchers shop but is really a cocktail bar. You might guess from the bouncer on the door but otherwise you have to know. Loud.
