A one mile hike to the waterfall or continue on for a steeper hike to the lake.

Easy" Beautiful, gentle hike through the pine trees to a beautiful waterfall. Nice & shaded on hot summer days. What’s not to love?

Pine Creek Falls trailhead is a mere 3.5 miles south on the East River Road up Luccock Park road. It is an easy 2.5 mile out and back trail. Or continue up the path another 4 miles and 3,600 foot elevation gain to Pine Creek Lake (10.5 mile roundtrip). Other great treks nearby include Passage Falls, Suce Creek, Deep Creek, Livingston Peak, and Elbow Lake. Montana weather is variable and can change dramatically in a day and with altitude. Be sure you are prepared, know where you are going, and have bear spray. Montana is the wilderness! Look at a map, know your limits, and never hesitate to ask. The animals are wild but the people are friendly!

It's busy these days, but a short 1-mile beautiful hike. If you have the legs, keep going another 4 miles to the lake. It gets steep.
