Not the easiest place to get to from Queens, but worth a day if you love art museums. Plenty of Food nearby and embedded in Central Park. I recommend taking the 7 to grand central and taking to the 4, 5, 6 train to 86th street.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York City, colloquially "the Met", is the largest art museum in the Western Hemisphere. Its permanent collection contains over two million works,[1] divided among 17 curatorial departments. The main building at 1000 Fifth Avenue, along the Museum Mile on the eastern edge of Central Park on Manhattan's Upper East Side, is by area one of the world's largest art museums. A much smaller second location, The Cloisters at Fort Tryon Park in Upper Manhattan, contains an extensive collection of art, architecture, and artifacts from medieval Europe.

This is one f the greatest museums in the world. The palatial building is on 82nd thru 86th street & 5th Ave should not be missed whether or are a fan of art or not. It's a showplace and awe-inspiring as you ascend the grand steps.
