Its a bit further than The Mash Tun, but does some really great food from a tiny kitchen at the end of the bar. Its just a cool place to hand out and have a drink and some food. Not the over priced stuff you get in the very centre of Edinburgh and much more of a local hangout. If you cut through the shopping mall area, its only 5 mins walk from the flat, and on the way into town.

The Safari Lounge is probably the closest pub to the flat and it's great. It's small and cosy with friendly staff and does great food, including vegan and gluten free options. It's also open during the day for coffee.
