Amazing views of Harpers Ferry, where the Shenandoah River joins the Potomac. Short hike to overlook. Really worth the climb.
If you get a chance to hike Maryland Heights, while steep in some parts, you won't regret it. The overlook features panoramic views of Maryland, WV and Virginia- and the point where the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers join to one.
This was one of the first hikes my wife and I took when we moved to the area. While I don't get up there as often as I'd like, I would recommend this hike to anyone who wants a great view of Harpers Ferry, WV.
A bit strenuous of a hike of the mountain but you will be rewarded with stunning views of the two rivers and Harpers Ferry.
Steep hiking trail to the cliffs overlooking Harpers Ferry. Gorgeous views of the town and both Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. The cliff is above the train tunnel to the rail and walking bridges into Harpers Ferry. Limited parking on the Maryland side, but you could also park in Harpers Ferry and cross the bridge into Maryland for access.
