Take a tour with a scientist and learn about the ecology of the area. There are also lectures for adults and kids. It's a great organization.

Great place with multiple locations including one on top of Vail mountain. Perfect for the non-skier during winter and avid hiker and naturalist during summer. www.walkingmountains.org to see all their current programs, most of which are free!
