Tips from locals
One of two museums owned by the City & County of San Francisco, years of gifts from wealthy San Franciscians has built up a wide-ranging collection of art from across the Western World.
A near by home museum where locals enjoy. A lot less foot traffic than the de Young
One of the most scenic museums location in the city with special exhibits. A local favorite and free on first Tuesdays of month.
Beautiful exterior combined with great views of the Golden Gate. Even if art museums aren't your cup of tea, the views are worth it and the outside is free! If you do venture inside, the special exhibitions are usually worth the cost.
My fav museum in SF and a fit of SF history as it was built by the infamous "Big" Alma Spreckles. Great art including a permanent exhibit of Rodin sculptures, one of the largest in the US, and outside of Paris. Walk 75 feet from the entrance, for some of the best views of the Gold Gate Bridge.

“The food is a bit pricey, but decent, but nothing too special. The place is right next to the cliff overseeing the Pacific Ocean - amazing view. It's definitely a great tourist spot to check out!”

“Pagan is the Central Richmond's answer to the Inner Richmond's Mandalay and Burma Superstar. Pagan isn't as famous as the other two Burmese spots in the Richmond, but still excellent with the added bonuses of shorter wait times and more neighborhood street parking. Samusa soup is a favorite. ”
