The Grade II listed Deal Timeball Tower was built in 1820. It has recently been renovated. It is programmed to drop at 13:00 every day, and it's so exciting to see it in action and to think of its history. The time signal allowed ships in the area to check the accuracy of their chronometers in order that they could navigate accurately. Do visit this lovely Tower. You can tie it into a trip to The Pier Kitchen!
