More then just a great place for Pad Thai, this whole strip is home to LA's Thai Town.

Unlike Chinatown or Little Tokyo, restaurant/stores in Thaitown is a bit sporadically located. Get off Redline metro Hollywood/Western. My favorite places are Ruen Pair (towards east) & Palms (west).
