Interesting reproduction of a flying boat which operated from the River Shannon to the USA. Foynes is where Irish Coffee was invented.

Foynes is a 15 minute drive from here on the Shannon Estuary way. The town is famous for the flying boats that used to land regularly on Foynes. It is also famed as the birth place of the Irish Coffee! The museum is a real favourite with our family as our son loves to use the flight simulator. A real fun afternoon for all the family.

For aviation and Maureen O Hara fans. Trying the Irish coffee there is a must.
