Its a quintessential old New England restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. The food is very good and the drinks are wonderful. But its popular, so its best to make a reservation or come early.

This is probably my favorite restaurant. In 17 years I've never had a meal I didn't like there, and I'm a little picky. (Heavy alcohol pour--I always have them bring a side of cranberry with my Cosmopolitan, but a lot of people like the higher alcohol amount in their drinks, and they're kind of known for it.) Hearty New American fare served in an airy, early American farmhouse, plus atmospheric tavern. ( 1/2 mile from John Brewer House.) A little pricy for the area, but always great.
