Tips from locals
A fantastic choice of scenic walks/hikes. The hike to the forat (hole in the mountain that goes from one side to the other) is worth the walk. Sensible shoes a must.
We really recommend this hike. It is hiking and a little more advanced trail with gravel and rocks. The whole hike takes about 4-5 hours but you can also go up and down to the top. Takes about 2 hours. You then come up to an incredibly cool passage in the mountain where you "crawl" into a small hole…
The beautiful Sierra de Bernia hangs over Altea la Vella. The easily walkable woods are well worth a visit. Walk along the "Camí Font del Garroferet" to the natural springs and fill your water bottle up!

“South of Altea in Albir, there is a beautiful walk in the Serra Gelada Natural Park. You can park the car at the end of Carrer de Neptu and take the path to the lighthouse, el Camino del Faro. The path is paved all the way.”
