Visit the studio and home of Elizabeth Ney. A local female sculptor from the early Texas period. Peaceful and very interesting place to visit and learn a little local history.
Museum of works by sculptor Elizabet Ney, housed in a small castle built for her in 1892. Showcases many of her white marble works; you can also see her two most famous pieces—of Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston—at the Texas State Capitol, downtown.

It is housed in the former studio of sculptor Elisabet Ney and is dedicated to showcasing her life and works. There is a permanent collection of her portrait busts and personal memorabilia on display. She was an influential woman in Texas and so her story is pretty interesting.
