No trip to Grover Beach would be complete without a cup of chowder and a hot grilled cheese sandwich from Splash.

“This winery makes my very favorite "champagne". (It started as Mason Deutz.) It's just off the 101 freeway, with easy access on the northbound side. If you're heading south, you'll have to pass it and get off on Los Berros Drive, and then head back north for a moment to get access. ”

“The Pismo Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove is one of only five sites in the state that has counts of over 10,000 butterflies annually. Each year thousands of vibrant orange and black Monarch Butterflies flock to Pismo State Beach, a location essential to their successful migration, seeking shelter from the freezing northern winters. From late October to February, the butterflies cluster in the limbs of towering, majestic Eucalyptus trees flanking a riparian estuary that flows to the Pacific Ocean.”

“By far the best restaurant in the Five Cities area. They don't take reservations, but it's well worth the wait. This restaurant often makes national lists for it's fabulous food and flatbread pizzas. We highly recommend.”
