Tantallon castle is owned and run by Historic Scotland and well worth a visit. Afterwards (or before) visit Drift which is very close to the castle. This is a cafe built from shipping containers. As well as great food the views of the sea with the Bass rock close by are spectacular.

Tantallon Castle is a semi-ruined mid-14th-century fortress, located 5 kilometres east of North Berwick, in East Lothian, Scotland. It sits atop a promontory opposite the Bass Rock, looking out onto the Firth of Forth. Maintained by Historic Scotland, offering great views, historic information and ideal for families, a great day out.

Set high on a cliff edge and featuring a massive red sandstone curtain wall built in the 1300s, Tantallon Castle is Scotland's last grand medieval castle abandoned after 300 years having seen it's fair share of sieges. www.historicenvironment.scot/visit-a-place/places/tantallon-castle/history
