This is the site of an old fort originally built in the early 1800s and is the only fort in Australia to have fired its guns at the Japanese during WWII. It's a nice historical spot that kids will love but there is also a great view of the harbour and city from the lawns.
Fort Scratchley was a former coastal defence installation and is now a museum. It was built in 1882 to defend the city against a possible Russian attack
