My favorite place in our city. A 10 minute walk gives you access to scores of miles of trails. Walk, hike, run, bike, wander, horseback ride and forget your are even in a city.
Great for hiking, picnics, or just taking a break to sit and meditate. Bikers, runners, and dogs frequent the trail. It’s really a place for everyone. You may even run into a few equestrians on the path.
Wissahickon Valley Park contains 2,042 acres of parkland in Northwest Philadelphia, including the Wissahickon Creek from its confluence with the Schuylkill River to the northwestern boundary of the city with eastern Montgomery County.
We still cant believe this place exists in a city. Get lost in nature, hiking trails, mini waterfalls and even a few hot spring ponds. Spring, Summer or Fall the Wissahickon trail is a special place.
There are 57 miles of trails in Wissahickon Valley Park, a lush, 1,800-acre gorge, crossing forest and meadow before plunging down to the sun-dappled waters of the Wissahickon Creek. Visitors find themselves lost in a feeling of wilderness as they walk, bike or ride horse through this undisputed…
