This is still a working mine the tour is by a Freeminer. I’d never heard of the word Freeminer either !

The Hopewell Colliery in the forest of Dean acts as a museum depicting the past, present and future way of mining. Underground guided tours last approximatley 45 mins where you will learn all about the safety measures miners have to take whilst working underground. Helmets supplied and must be worn.
