Fascinating ancient quarry under the cliff, these caves have got all the history anyone could want. Guided tours are very informative. Holnest’s bat population spend their winters here.
Even if you're not visiting the Quarry Caves, it's worth dropping in here for reasonably priced drinks and snacks. Friendly staff and nice seating area.
Beer stone quarried since before Roman times, used to build St. Paul's Cathedral among many other famous places - a must visit.
Large man made cave system with excellent guided tours. Interesting social history. Book ahead. 23 miles, approx 45 min.
