The Abbey itself is both beautiful and steeped in history, with peaceful walks around the lovely gardens to fill your day. Tip: well worth getting the tablet and headset (no extra cost) which adds an extra dimension.

Market
“The undercover food market in Narbonne is a standout food market in France. Bursting with regional produce, you can find the best selection of cheeses, olives, vegetables and of course every kind of meat. There are wonderful restaurants in Les Halles so you can have lunch there and then head home with you basket jammed with dinner ingredients. An absolute must see”

Off-Licence
“Situé à Portel des Corbières, à seulement 5 minutes en voiture. Lieu insolite et atypique... d'anciennes mines sous-terraines, reconverties désormais en cave pour les vins locaux... une visites sous terre, avec spectacle son et lumières... avec possibilité de dégustation... à voir !”

“My favourite beach, an hour away, but the location for the film Betty Blue, so why not. The stilted chalets are still there, above the odd Citroën Mehari, baking in the sun When you've finished sizzling, a short drive to the old port of Gruissan for the freshest seafood. Wear your stripey T shirt, this is as French as it gets.”
