This is an amazing spot of preserved old-growth forrest that one of West Seattle's early settler families donated to the public. Hiking trails with a loop down to Alki Beach await.

Near Alki Beach in West Seattle, Schmitz Preserve Park is a 53-acre park featuring old growth forest and walking trails. Essentially unchanged since 1908, the gorgeous park contains the largest old growth forest in Seattle. One of the loveliest ways to walk to Alki from your airbnb.

another very nice forest park up closer to Alki beach, another with a stream running throughout so you might spot some salmon

One of Seattle's two old-growth forests. It's a lovely afternoon hike!
