Tips from locals
Wonderful museum in the heart of Antibes. The museum building is in a sea-side fort in which Picasso had an art studio for several years.
Not to be missed. Just the right size for a museum. Good selection of Picasso's works as well as other contemporary artists. Sea views are quite spectacular!
The musée Picasso is situated in le château Grimaldi, place Mariejol, in Antibes. The artist Picasso lived and worked there until 1946. Closed on monday, the rest of the week visits are from 10h00 to 12h00 and 14h00 to 18h00.
Not as important or famous as other Picasso Museums. This building houses sketches and pottery mostly as well as visiting exhibits. The building and view from the walls of Antibes are stunning.
Interesting building located in the Ramparts of Antibes housing pieces of art donated to the town by Picasso himself who spent time in Antibes.
The former workshop of Picasso has been converted in a museum dedicated to its former occupant. Whether it is for the art collection or for the stunning view from the terrace, the Picasso Museum is a must go.
