Waimea Falls & Botanical Gardens - 35 min drive north. Wonderful paved walk deep through a natural forest and botanical gardens showcasing Hawaii local flora and fauna. Polynesian huts, tools and living exhibits throughout the 20 min walk that ends in a beautiful waterfall with lifevests provided so you can swim to the waterfall. Paid entry $20 per adult but well worth the price! One of my top pics for an afternoon/evening in nature. Entry closes at 4.30 pm so best to get there by mid-day. About 3/4 mile hike on payment through beautiful plants until you reach the waterfall and you can swim here but must wear life jackets which are provided, just leave them a tip and caution, the water is quite cool but beautiful and picturesque, across the street from Waimea Bay

Amazing framers market every Thursday 2pm-6pm. Live music, beer and wine garden, food, fresh produce and local crafters. The scene can’t be beat.

Unlike the other waterfalls on Oahu, Waimea Falls Park was once an entertainment theme park where you could drive up right up and park, grab a seat , and sip on a pineapple juice beverage while watching cliff divers take death-defying plunges alongside the Waimea Waterfall. Hula dancers used to provide additional entertainment with dance performances as well.
