Fascinating castle and beautiful grounds. Still privately owned by the Murray family, so it has a lot of family history as well as being part of Scotland's national story. "Bonnie Dundee", the leader of the 1689 Jacobite Rising, is buried in the old church here and the Murray family, like most…
One of Scotlands most visited castles. Beautiful walks in the gardens and surrounding area. Guided tours available, tearoom, gift shop.

“This is the smallest distillery in the area and offers something that the larger ones can’t. Worth a visit, inspite of it being smaller. ”

Theatre
“Despite being a relatively small town, Pitlochry theatre is a highly regarded in the UK as putting on great shows with outstanding actors who travel from all over Britain to audition for the April to October theatre season. Once the cast is chosen, they put on three shows per week making it a pleasure to go several times during your holiday if you want to. You would book your tickets in advance on their website and you can also book a pre theatre mean there too. I thoroughly recommend this too as the food is excellent. Pitlochry has many good restaurants that will offer pre theatre meals too. The next eating place closest to the theatre is Port na craig which can be reached without driving if you park in the theatre car park. The theatre also has pantomimes on every Christmas and the Words festival which is on in February each year and has a variety of authors and speakers talking at it. ”
