Want to walk safely in a Costa Rican Market? Visit Mercado Central de Alajuela, where you can buy local produce and souvenirs at really cheap prices. It is located in downtown Alajuela, Costa Rica´s 2nd city, you can walk around and get a feeling of culture and community. Shops, restaurants, Alajuela´s Cathedral and Park are very close to the market.

Head to the enclosed Mercado Central for lots of small restaurants, fruits stands and much, much more. You can also buy souvenirs for a cheaper price than in souvenirs stores.
