We love the large map of the old coal mines which are riddled all under Cle Elum. The local area has a fascinating history.

There are pictures of my family dating back to 1886 in the museum. It is full of interesting archives.

This is a really cool and quirky museum. What makes it so unique is that it tells individual people’s stories as part of the towns history instead of broad overviews of a time. It’s carefully curated and volunteer run, open winter saturdays 11-3.
