don't bother with parking downtown, take the taxi from patriots point. Drops you in the historic district downtown

Great way to see Charleston from the water and get betweeen a couple points downtown and the marina across the way in Mt. Pleasant.

The water taxi is a great affordable way to get on the water here in Charleston. It makes four stops traveling from downtown to mount pleasant and back. It is $12 per person for an all-day ticket so you can get off at each stop and spend the day exploring.
